Discover the mesmerizing world of cacti, succulents, and tiny creatures through the macrophotography of Victor Mozqueda. His images show the forms, colors and intricacies of desert plants, insects and other critters.
Victor will discuss his recent collaboration with botanists for the book, “Do Plants Know Math? Unwinding the Story of Plant Spirals, from Leonardo da Vinci to Now.” Images from the book were on display at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) in 2025, and the authors discussed their theories at public presentations sponsored by BRIT.

Victor is an international nature photographer and naturalist based in North Texas. His macro photography allows observers to view some of earth’s exquisitely intricate inhabitants.
Hiking trails in gardens, parks and forests are favorite exploration sites where Victor searches for images to add to his collections for study, documentation and display. He enjoys emphasis on color, texture, symmetry and abstracts that convey an appreciation for nature’s fascinating patterns.
