Learn about photo opportunities at the annual desert gathering with camera club members Shawn and Peggy Gibson.

The festival is held each August in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. The festival is described as an event where art meets community meets cultural chaos.
The festival was founded in 1986 when a group of people burned a wooden man on a San Francisco beach. The festival now attracts more than 70,000 people.
The 2026 festival will be Aug. 30 to Sept. 7.

Shawn and Peggy will share information about their experiences and how they captured compelling images.
Both Peggy and Shawn are longtime club members who have previously served on the board of directors. Shawn is a 2026 board and Competition Committee member. Their photos regularly wins ribbons in monthly competition.
