Plano-based photographer David Downs will discuss his approach to seeing a scene and looking beyond the initial image capture. Says David: “I can see the potential in in the object or the view or the moment by understanding what is possible using the tools we have available. We’ll look at original captures and talk through what led me to my end result.”
David has had a passion for photography as long as he can remember, starting with film and family pictures, and now with two photography businesses.
David Downs Photography is his platform for producing award winning commercial work, branding campaigns, portraiture and the creative art that motivates his time behind the camera. He’s received the Artist of The Year Award for the Art Centre of Plano and has had images on multiple magazines covers. He has multiple images selected for the Professional Photographers Association Imaging Excellence category in 2023 and received a Silver Medal from the Texas Professional Photographers Association in 2023.
Benton Downs Photography allows David, in collaboration with his business partner Barry Benton, to share his love of photography with classes workshops, editing and creativity.
