Band/Event Photography

Chad Fenner

Chad Fenner will discuss the ins and outs of shooting live concerts and events, including access, etiquette, techniques, post-processing and band relations. Chad is a long-time club member who has earned Master photographer status.

Chad went to his first concert when he was 15 but didn’t start photographing shows until the invention of affordable digital cameras. Since then he’s shot upwards of 50 shows per year. He recently returned from his fifth festival of 2022 and has three scheduled.

He is one of the preeminent concert shooters within the Christian rock genre. His pics have been used by Stryper, Scott Stapp, The Alarm Disciple, Lacey Sturm, Decyfer Down, Seventh Day Slumber, Spoken, The Protest, Oh Sleeper, War of Ages and others. He shoots for and has had numerous photo spreads published there.

His work can be found on Facebook (Concert Fotos), Instagram (ConcertFotosByChad) or his SmugMug page.

Finding Friendly Faces

Carolyn Bobo

Carolyn explored photojournalism in college, but correctly recognized that her skill was in reporting, writing and storytelling. During her career in newspaper journalism, public relations and advertising, she spent many hours with professional photographers and designers putting together words and images that informed and entertained viewers and readers.

When the digital age arrived, she applied her skills and experience to website content management and usability, working with site designers and programmers to make useful, informative and visually attractive content accessible to targeted audiences. She is the club’s website content manager and a board member.

Carolyn travels as much as she can and likes to photograph interesting people to include in photobooks she shares with friends and family. Her presentation will provide tips for identifying and chatting with subjects, and making images of ordinary people all over the world. She earns an average of one competition ribbon per year and is thrilled to do so.
