Don’s program topics include:
Avoiding common mistakes, capturing authentic personality, developing a relationship with the subject and using comfortable props.
During his career, Don worked for NBC News and PBS, and has taught photography at Chicago-area colleges. He has a collection of more than 1,000 cameras which he uses with classroom lectures.
As owner of Double Systems production company, Don produced documentaries and television advertising.
Don’s work has received more than 40 awards from photography associations, the Hollywood Press Association, National Association of Broadcasters and international photo associations.
He is an ordained Baptist minister and is active in youth ministries, prison ministries and pastoral care, and has hosted radio programs and published books about mentoring troubled young people.
July Competition
Entries are due for monthly competition at this meeting. Submit your digital entry by midnight. Submit a digital image of your print entry by midnight and bring prints to the meeting for delivery to the judge. Competition is open to members who have paid current year dues; pay for 2022 when you enter. Dues are reduced by 50 per cent as of July 1.
