Glen Ellman Fort Worth FireGlen Ellman began photographing firefighters while growing up on Long Island, NY. He published his first fire image in Newsday at age 14, and later photographed a tragic, nationally reported fire in Syracuse, NY, while a photojournalism student at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications.

He has captured more than 2 million frames of firefighters and EMS responders at fires and behind the scenes at stations and training. Above, from Glen’s archives.

Glen has been making images in the Fort Worth-Dallas area for more than 30 years. He began his career as a newspaper photographer, including at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He now provides commercial photo services to businesses, community organizations and other clients, along with his work as the official photographer for the Fort Worth Fire Department.
