Jay Miller, a professional aviation photographer, will give a short presentation on photo copyright based on a recent experience he had with a major client.
The importance of copyright remains one of the big elephants in the room for most professional – and even non-professional – photographers. Ninety-five percent do not register their photographs and do not fully understand the importance of doing so. For Jay, it was a lesson learned – but one with a happy ending.
Jay received the International Society for Aviation Photography (ISAP) George Hall Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. The award recognizes outstanding individuals whose initiative and dedication to aviation photography has improved the profession and positively influenced others. He co-founded ISAP in 2000 and led the organization until 2013.
Jay also is the club’s November competition judge.
