Have you ever heard a judge use the phrase “the blacks aren’t black enough and the whites aren’t white enough?” Master* photographer Jeffrey Heyer will explain what the judge might be thinking at an Aug. 9 workshop about the zone system and black and white photography.
This workshop is geared to those who want to photograph in black and white but aren’t sure how to process the image. We will investigate the Ansel Adams zone system, above, and see how our image fits within that system.
Jeff is a member of the club’s competition committee and a frequent award winner in club competitions.
The workshop will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9, in the club’s meeting location: 3500 Camp Bowie. Our meeting room is in the Research and Education Building at the corner of Clifton Street and Camp Bowie. You may enter the free parking lot and go to the lower level to find Room 100, Everett Hall.
(*Master photographers are those who have successfully entered monthly competitions and been named Photographer of the Year in the Advanced category.)
